Jimmmmmmmmy Crammmmmmmer

It has been a minute since I talked about Jimmy Boy. I figured since he was the first person I ever wrote about (with some vitriol) I should once more take a trip over to the all-holy Mad Money.

SJIM, the inverse Cramer ETF is shutting down. It was a major bummer, but we should be real, that was never going to be anything. LJIM however has been doing fairly solidly. It was up 8% recently (due to one lucky pick) but honestly, good for him. I mean this does not excuse recommending Silicon Valley Bank FIVE DAYS before it went under or recommending you get out of Bitcoin in December (it is up 70% since then) but he is on a roll, (not). Here is why he is still dumb. I think this is a necessary reminder. He gets a couple of lucky picks (everything is luck if we are being honest) and everything is forgiven, here is why that is wrong. Also, some articulation on some points I did not make very well in my first essay.

He lacks substance completely. YIPEEE, he can loosely remember the script someone else wrote for him and yell every word that comes out his mouth as loudly as he can. I’m pretty sure that puts him on the same level as my twelve-year-old brother. Actually, no, my brother is on a level far superior to that of Jim Cramer, because Jim Cramer has no respect for his name.

Jimmy allows CNBC to attach his name to every article and show they can get their hands on. He allows himself to be told what is right and what is wrong all in exchange for money. And yes, at a certain point, it is selfish to not take money and sacrifice your name, because you have to look out for your family. However, once you are worth $150 million, you can probably chill on licensing your name for every 30-minute research article that CNBC asks you to put your name next to. As Ron Swanson once said, “The only thing that's important at the end of the day is what's on your gravestone... Your name.” It just pains me to see someone sell out their identity, and have interns write crappy story after crappy story, punishing his reputation, all for something he has 150 million of.

Jim Cramer’s show sucks; truly the Tik-Tok of finance. It is all quick, all meaningless, all generated. He so quickly cycles in and out of stocks he likes, never allowing anyone’s mind to rest because then they may see that he is a fraud. This is my opinion, but what is the point of watching a middle-aged, bald man, yell completely unintelligible sentences that he barely understands? Sentences by the way he does not understand because he does not have any hand in writing what he is saying.

I recently read Fahrenheit 451 again, and even though what I am about to say is very pretentious and high on my horse-esque, I am finding it so hard to not see his show as being content on the level that they had in their universe. Montag’s wife was watching constantly yelling, constantly loud, needy, television. Everything matters right now. It is just so manipulative, and it is abusing the newest traders among our ranks.

Traders who have heard of Jimmy a couple of times. They go to Mad Money and get abused by noise and completely superficial thoughts. How are these newbies supposed to learn? I mean when they destroy their portfolios by following every flip-flop piece of “advice” he gives out, maybe they will learn.

Jim Cramer has sold out his reputation, he harms those who are looking for advice and help, and he is the exact image Wall Street needs to shed. In general, there is a hostile, aggressive nature on Wall Street. There always has been, and there probably always will be. That is totally natural in a situation like this where there are always winners and losers, but good lord, nobody needs this. Nobody needs this panic-mongering, oaf telling them that everyone else is stupid but him.

Yes, I do see the irony that most of what I do on this website is tell you that everyone else is stupid but me. However, I have never attached my name to something I do not believe in. Even though I get 1/100000th the following that Jimmy gets, and it would probably help me grow this website if I said insane things like Jim, I only attach myself to things I believe in. I do not say this to toot my own horn, I say this to tell you that if I (a 16-year-old) can resist the pull of spewing nonsense, then maybe a 68-year-old man can also resist that pull.
