What is

Pax Romana Capital?

My name is Henry Beall. I started this when I was fifteen, and now I am sixteen. I am by no means a professional; take everything I say with a grain of salt.

If you are a day-one follower, then you know this is new. This website used to be called “Beallian Investing” because I needed a name, and I figured my last name combined with Investing would probably be okay. Unfortunately, that was a really bad name, so I changed it. Also unfortunately, I cannot take the Series 65 and get my Investment Advisory License, so calling myself “Pax Romana Capital” is a bit facetious. Even though this is now a legitimate company, with all of the paperwork filled out and everything, nothing will change about this website, and I definitely will not place ads. I will write every few days on investment topics and give my opinion, advice, and maybe hate on Jim Cramer a lil.

The core investment philosophy of Pax Romana Capital is the same as the poorly named Beallian Investing, using the core values and traits of a company to decide whether it is worth investing in. Values and traits like earnings potential, placement in the market, growth potential, and most importantly, leadership. After I analyze those traits, I zoom out and look at macroeconomic trends. A stock having a comparatively low price does not make it a buy. You must focus on fundamentals, market position, and leadership, then look at the price, IV, etc. Look at the company and then the stock. Listening to earnings calls and reading the transcripts is crucial to this strategy, getting a feel for what the company is.

I named this Pax Romana Capital for some horrendously pompous reasons but also because I am listening to this podcast about Rome. You don’t have to stay around, but please give me feedback, even if you believe it is useless. Thank you.

My favorite pop culture:

Favorite movies: Revenge of the Sith, Empire Strikes Back, The Big Short, Moneyball, American Psycho, Stand by Me, Ford v Ferrari, Kung Fu Panda 2, Fight Club, all Batman movies, No Country For Old Men Goodfellas+both Godfather movies, The Lord Of The Rings movies, Cars, Gladiator, Superbad, Stepbrothers, The Hangover, and My Neighbor Totoro.

Favorite books: Lonesome Dove (mind-blowing), Return of The King, Two Towers, Fellowship of The Ring, Meditations, The Alchemist, Liar’s Poker, Animal Farm, The Big Short, Dandelion Wine, Fahrenheit 451, Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption, The Stand, The Call of the Wild, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Hobbit, The Things They Carried, The Art of War (a bit snobby, yes), The One and Only Ivan, The Road, The Dark Tower Series. I just finished Dune and was so blown away, and I am beginning the rest of the series.

Favorite TV shows: The Clone Wars, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Justice League Unlimited, The Simpsons, Succession, Community, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Batman: The Animated Series, Firefly, Parks and Rec, The Boys, Invincible, Jujutsu Kaisen, Avatar The Last Airbender, Ted Lasso, and I just finished Bojack Horseman, which is so good. On the outside, it seemed like the show sucked, but after so many people told me it was good, I gave it a chance, and it has been mind-altering. Now, I am watching The Sopranos.

Video Games: Read Dead Redemption 2, Battlefront 1+2, Shadow of War+Mordor, Civilization Six, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Batman Arkham Asylum, Batman Arkham City, Batman Arkham Knight, Battlefield 1 (maybe the most exquisite game I’ve ever played), Halo (1-3 and Reach), GTA V, PvZ GW2.

If you’re still reading and have spotted grammatical errors, please email me, or leave a comment. I’m still in high school English and have a loose grip on the language ;). Also, for my “writings,” I get quite a few of my images from the Youtube Channel “Horses”, but also from Google, books, and artists I like. If you are trying to find the artist or author for one of my images or quotes, feel free to leave a comment or an email, and I can try to find my source.

Thanks again, now stop reading this and go read my genius (joke).
