I Don’t Even Know What Else to Write About-The Trump Assassination Attempt

     I don’t even know what else I could possibly talk about. I promise that this isn’t going to become a political site, but a Trump assassination attempt engulfs all other news. I do not know what else I could talk about, but I’ll try and keep it in a financial context. This is going to be super short, though. I literally do not know what to say.

      Donald Trump was two inches from getting his head blown up by Mathew Thomas Crooks, a registered Republican. How the Secret Service let this happen is beyond me. Mathew was less than 450 yards away on an exposed roof with a rifle in hand, but that is beside the point.

      I hate Donald Trump, and I have never hidden my feelings about that. With that said, I am extremely glad he was not shot and killed. I think it would have been one of the worst possible things to happen to this country. Trump would have become a martyr, and the crazy people around him *cough* JD Vance would have used the tragedy to vault into more power, but just in general, I am glad that a fellow human has not been shot and killed. I think you must be pretty sick and twisted (as well as short-sided and dumb) to want that bullet to go through Trump’s head.

      Despite what many people have said online, I think if Trump did not already have this thing sown up, he does now. I see no viable path to anyone beating him. I do genuinely pray that this does not escalate beyond this moment of furor. It would be naive to believe that this is when it gets real for everyone, and people calm down, but I do think there is a possibility that Trump makes the right decision, and tells his people to stand down. He didn’t do it during the 2020 election, but I think there is some hope. In his statement, he said that we didn’t know anything about the suspect yet, which was true at the time. I would have expected him to rage against ANTIFA, or something like that.

Yesterday, when this happened, I was extremely emotional and worried. The first three elections I can remember were the 2016, 2020, and now 2024 elections. Each one seems to have been more stressful than the last, but this is a new height. However, I have reached some serenity. This just is. I am not uncaring or unfeeling about my country, but I do recognize that far worse things have happened to us. A Civil War for one, corrupt politicians, wealth and power inequality worse than what we have now, there is so much we have dealt with and come back from as a country. Donald Trump will pass, and America will continue.

Life is beautiful, and there is no reason to sully our short time here on this planet with dark forebodings about futures that may never come to pass. Never turn a blind eye to changes you disagree with in our country, but also remember that life is beautiful.

With that said, the market is probably going to be pretty red tomorrow morning.
