Buy Costco No Matter The Cost

I own Costco stock, and you should too. Again this is not financial advice, I’m fifteen. If you spend money on anything just because a fifteen-year-old with a Mac and a website told you to, you deserve to lose money. However, Costco is an excellent example of a company worth buying at all times. It’s not sexy, or attractive, but man will that stock run. The company is run by an excellent leadership group that has weathered storm after storm for decades now and has expanded internationally. One of my favorite pieces of evidence for their domination is in this video, I’ll put it at the bottom of this essay. Costco has become famous internationally for the mutualistic relationship it has with its customers. If you are unaware of the Costco business model, it goes a little something like this. You pay a membership of sixty dollars per year, (which is more than half the cost of an Amazon Prime membership,) and in return, you receive goods that are massively discounted. They are famous for selling a very wide variety of goods, TVs, chickens, gasoline, washing machines, toilet paper, you name it and they sell it. Their Kirkland brand often matches the quality of the brand it’s knocking off, and again this all comes very cheaply. With a company like this, you don’t even have to look at the numbers, nor should you. Run a preliminary check obviously to make sure everything is suitable, but again, don’t time it. You aren’t going to remember ten years from now when it’s up 90000% whether you bought it at $502 or at $480. Just buy it now. The company has proven it can handle just about anything the natural or financial world can throw at it. For example, the advent of online shopping did nothing to halt Costco’s growth, in fact, it likely helped. The old and sickly brick and mortars like Sears fell by the wayside, allowing Costco to pick up the pieces. Amazon and online shopping in general haven’t touched Costco’s stellar growth over the past decade. Costco has adapted quite well, picking up a little south of $10 billion dollars from E-commerce. Costco has 123 million members worldwide, they come in just behind Amazon and Walmart as the third largest retailer in America, and sixth in the world. Revenue grew 14% in just the last year, and 18% the year before that. They have some of the lowest turnover in the business, whereas their competitors like Target and Walmart routinely have to hire new employees, Costco has long had the highest hourly pay, and many great benefits. I’m not pitching you a job at Costco, but happy employees who worked to get into the job they’re at, generally do a great job. It’s these sorts of things that allow Costco to be a great organization from top to bottom. Costco has opened about twenty new stores over the past year and a half, with ten more planned for the coming year. Do more research, but believe me when I tell you that Costco is a company you want to be a part of for the rest of your life. I don’t think there are many buy-and-hold forever companies in the market, but Costco is definitely one of them. If you have any feedback or any ideas please contact me, thanks!
